My Review:
Football, bucket lists, arch rival and enemies to lovers. The story of Jason & Felicity is a steady stream of ups and downs. It was awesome to be in both these characters heads. I thought Jason was going to be the only complex character, but Felicity has layers too. Once they strip each other bare, what is found underneath the layers is beautiful.

Jason is my favorite character. I love complicated characters, and he is definitely that. I loved being in his head, getting a different take on what he never shows on the outside. Felicity is more of an open book, but i learned more of her issues and insecurities as well. Watching these two come together was angst ridden and messy, but what comes out of that is two people who are so different that they’re the best thing for each other. I love this couple!!

I love this series! I can’t wait for the next book, and I’m looking forward to Asher finally getting his happy ending. My heart goes out to that boy.

Returning to my drug-dealing past wasn’t on the agenda when I accepted the full ride to play ball at Cypress U. But Mom lost her job. And my sister’s medical bills are mounting. So, I’ve no choice but to change the playbook.

When Emily walks into my life, like a fallen goddess with the ultimate power to destroy me, I know I’m screwed. I should steer clear, but I’m the one supplying her poison of choice. Falling for her is a complication I don’t need, but the more she’s around, the harder it gets to walk away. She needs me, and I crave her more than the sport I love.

Now, it’s all on the line. Including the NFL career that’s tantalizingly close.

The stakes are high, but family means everything, so I’ll take my chances.

Excerpt:

I’m half-tempted to call Donnie to make sure he gave me the correct address when headlights brighten the narrow alleyway.

The SUV is crawling toward me, and my nerves are jacked. I shouldn’t be doing this. I should find a decent part-time job to pay for my sister’s medical expenses, but I see no other way. We have to get her vest fixed or buy a new one. Selling drugs is the only way to make some quick cash. Besides, I’m good at it. I sold dope and pills for years, and I’d never been arrested. I always had my pulse on the neighborhoods, and I knew where cops loitered at night.

You’ve been out too long. Things might have changed, and you’re in a new state.

I push my inner thoughts aside. None of that matters. I’m always alert. I always know what’s around me, and as Mom tells me, I’m perceptive as hell. I have to be. Taking care of Mom and Phoebe—especially Phoebe—I have to be alert to her sounds, her breathing, and her emotions.

Thinking of my sister sends pain slicing through my chest. I can’t let anything happen to her. She spent two days in the hospital, where the doctor pumped her with antibiotics, until she started feeling better.

The SUV pulls to a stop, and a short stocky guy gets out of the front passenger seat brandishing a gun. The driver, a taller man than his compadre, follows.

I lift my hands as if a cop is arresting me. “I’m unarmed.”

Aiming the gun at my head, he stalks toward me. His dark eyes are hard, his mission resolute. “Move and you’re dead.” His deep voice is lethal.

An all too familiar wave washes over me, and I’m tempted to back out of this stupid idea to sell drugs and run before he pulls the trigger. I’m not any good dead to Mom and Phoebe. But I know his words are just a scare tactic while he frisks me.

I stand statue-still while the second dude, sporting a thin beard and no mustache, pats my sides, my lower back, down my legs, and straight down to my ankles. He sticks one finger in the air. “All clear.”

The stocky dude lowers his gun, and, inwardly, I grin. The goon didn’t find the blade in my boot. I’m not about to use it though. But I don’t walk into situations like these unarmed. Still, I make a mental note of the type of men I’m dealing with.

A tall man climbs out of the back seat. He’s sporting baggy jeans and a New York Yankees ball cap, and the gold bling around his neck probably weighs ten pounds as it glints off the dim light on the side of the car repair shop.

It’s all I can do not to roll my eyes. Donnie doesn’t show off like this dude. Donnie’s motto is blend in with the crowd. Standing out only draws attention.

“You must be Wrangler. I’m Ray Diaz.” Ray struts over to the metal garage door. “You understand I have to be careful.” He punches a code in on the keypad tacked to the frame of the door. Within a second, it opens.

I tuck my hands in my jean pockets. “I’m well aware of the industry.”

A deep chuckle erupts from Ray. “I heard. Donnie told me you were a cocky punk too.”

It’s my turn to laugh. “When I need to be.”

Review:
Prepare to cry, swoon and fall in love with Adam & Emily. This is such a heartfelt and romantic story, that you’re not going to want to miss.

Written by two of my favorite authors, they wrote as one. It was seamless. It was such an honest, raw depiction of addiction. I cried so much through this book for Emily and what she was going through. Adam loved so hard. It was one of the things that drove him to sell drugs. A stupid and dangerous idea, but it is how he first met Emily. He was drawn to her from that very first moment. Then he found out that she is the Coach’s daughter. He doesn’t want to get kicked off the team, but he can’t help his feelings towards this girl. Emily feels the same way. And what unfolds is a really beautiful romance. Add in lots of ups and downs, twists and turns, some shocking revelations, and you have the perfect book!!

He’s a football god.

She’s the daughter of a Texas senator.

Their chemistry is like oil and water.

My name is Ryker James. I hate when people tell me what to do. I’m cocky, ornery, and I take things when I want them. Caring isn’t in my vocabulary unless it’s related to football or my family, and I just lost my entire family in a blink of an eye. Now all I have is football.

The problem is the misery, the drinking, and the parties have more appeal to me. But Lakemont University wants that championship. Fans want to see wins on the scoreboard, and my teammates salivate to crush our opponents every game. The only pass I might be throwing is at the auburn-haired girl who waltzes into my life. She’s fire. I’m ice. A combination that doesn’t work. So let the games begin.

My name is Haven Hale, and I’d been tucked away in a boarding school most of my life. Now I’m a big-time college girl, and all I see is freedom in front of me. But first, I have to agree to my father’s demands—no media attention and no sororities. If I can follow those two edicts, then college life should be a breeze.

Until one close encounter with Ryker James, and Father Dearest has changed the game. Stay away from the big, bad quarterback, or face my father’s wrath. There’s only one problem. I can’t help who I’m attracted to, and Ryker James is a magnet, built to attract any female, constructed to make any girl’s heart sputter, and my heart is beating off the charts. But it’s time to choose between the devil I know and the one I don’t.

After the second vampire book, I began to branch out in New Adult Romance. I love to read mostly all genres, and I’m always game to try something new. So I tested my hand at writing romantic suspense and just loved it. So you’ll find I write in several different sub-genres of romance.

Review:
This author constantly surprises me with her books! This is definitely a favorite for me!! I love those guys who are prickly on the outside, but once the right girl gets past that, he’s full of feelings and emotion!!

Ryker is exactly that kind of guy!! When he meets Haven, he thinks she is beautiful and he’s drawn to her, but he feels they’re not right for each other. “She’s fire. I’m ice. A combination that doesn’t work.” But there is more in the way of them being together than he realizes!

Haven has had a lonely upbringing since her mother died. She has been tucked away in boarding schools and longed for a relationship with her father. Now she’s at college and has more freedom than she’s ever had. When she meets Ryker she thinks he’s gorgeous, but she also thinks he’s a total jerk!

The characters were awesome!!! Including the side characters!! I loved the romance! *swoon* I was so wrapped up in this couple!! The emotion had me bawling my eyes out, and I did what I could to keep my kindle dry. This is such a wonderful love story, and more! You don’t want to miss it!!!

The doorbell kept ringing as though someone were holding the buzzer down. I was going to kill that person unless it was Coach Chapman. He would turn his hammer on me.

I chuckled out loud. Coach Chapman reminded me of Thor. At least his fists did when he rammed them down hard on a table, trying to elicit my attention or the team’s.

“I need you to leave.” My boner was completely gone now. I walked out of my room without another glance at Blondie.

I navigated the stairs, not in the mood to deal with whoever was standing on my porch. I knew one thing was certain—it couldn’t be the cops. I didn’t have any other close family members who could be dead. However, my aunt Kari was due in from England for the funeral. She’d been calling me nonstop to give me updates about her arrival, which wasn’t for… Hell, I didn’t even know. I’d lost track of days.

As I descended the last step and walked into the foyer, my blood gelled as I scrambled to think whether I’d missed football practice. Maybe that was the reason Lucas wasn’t around. I discarded that thought. For sure, Lucas would’ve dragged my ass out of bed early that morning.

I opened the door swiftly, and a red-haired pixie fell backward onto my bare feet. She was definitely not my aunt Kari.

Red scrambled to stand then swiped her hands down her jean shorts. At the same time, I was blatantly allowing my gaze to roam up and down her petite frame. Her tits were round and perfect. Her tanned legs were toned. Her lips were plump. Mmm. I liked plump lips. But she had no meat on her body.

“May I help you?” I asked. Maybe I can help you get your lips around my dick. At that thought, he jerked in my sweats.

She brushed her fingers through her hair, her eyes going straight to my crotch. “You can start by not sizing me up like I’m your breakfast.”

Tell me not to do something, and I’ll do it.

So once again, my gaze took a road trip over her body, slow and sure. “I haven’t eaten yet. Are you hungry?” I waggled my eyebrows, hoping she would get my underlying meaning.

She pushed past me and stomped into my house like she owned it. “We need to talk.”

The air around her filtered into my nose—lilacs. As if her scent was all I needed, bits and pieces of the night before registered in my murky brain.

Heaven.

“Talk or fuck? Because you were checking me out too,” I said, not that my erection wasn’t evident.

She gave me a cheeky smile. “I don’t do one-night stands.”

I grinned. “It’s daylight. How about a one-day stand?”

The sun poured in through the open door and the windows in the living room and dining room on either side of us as we stood in the foyer.

She shoved her middle finger in the air. “How many fingers do I have up?”

I closed the door and stalked toward her until she was pinned up against the banister. “Be careful, dollface. That gesture means something completely different to me.”

She rolled her green eyes as her chest rose and fell. “You’re an ass. And I’m not dollface.”

I lowered my head until our lips were a half-inch apart. “What would you like to be called, then?”

“Ew, your breath is disgusting.” She flattened her small hands against my bare chest and froze, staring at my pecs.

Not caring about my morning breath, I inhaled her lilac scent, which was doing crazy things to my body.

She worried her bottom lip. “Um. Can you step away?”

“Are you sure you want me to?” Because I want to fuck your brains out.

I didn’t know what in the hot Texas sun was happening. More memories of her on my lap bombarded me. This chick had some kind of juju that jumped off her and into me.

She finally ducked under my arm. “I need you to focus.” She wound her way down the hall and into the kitchen as though she owned the house. “You need a maid and a monstrous fan to blow out the stench in here.”

The only aroma I had in my nostrils was her.

I followed her as a door upstairs opened and closed. “I need a blow job.”

She snorted. “Ask one of the many women you sleep with.”

I didn’t recall her being so feisty when she was sitting on me. But I wasn’t complaining. I dug strong women. I also loved a challenge, and Red was throwing out challenge after challenge.

I’m Susan Alexander, and you’ll find my books under S.B. Alexander. A little about me. I’ve been writing since 2012 and started with writing all about vampires. After the second vampire book, I began to branch out in New Adult Romance. I love to read mostly all genres, and I’m always game to try something new. So I tested my hand at writing romantic suspense and just loved it. So you’ll find I write in several different sub-genres of romance. On between writing, I spend time with my soul mate of 20 years who got a bad deal in life. Three years ago he was diagnosed with ALS. It’s a horrible disease, but we both have been making the best of life, laughing, smiling, and doing what we can together.

But writing is a great outlet for me to take my mind to another place. Plus, I have a great network of family, friends, fans, and so much more. I truly have an angel on my shoulder. My mantra is make the best of life because it’s too darn short.

 ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Edgy. Angsty. Addictive Romance.

Author of mature young adult and new adult novels, L A is happiest writing the kind of books she loves to read: addictive stories full of teenage angst, tension, twists and turns.

Home is a small town in the middle of England where she currently juggles being a full-time writer with being a mother/referee to two little people. In her spare time (and when she’s not camped out in front of the laptop) you’ll most likely find L A immersed in a book, escaping the chaos that is life.

So let the games begin.
.
