My Review:
What a WONDERFUL, FUN book this one is!! I sucked it down so fast!! The story of Indira Story and her chance to be a character in Fable is absolutely delightful!!

Written for young readers, it has a Harry Potter vibe to it. Except what was freakin ingenious was that it is about books being written, characters being chosen to be in them, and it’s a school where the characters study and hope to be chosen by an Author. The world building is so incredible and entertaining! There are bookmarks who are tall, thin, odd characters who walk around talking about the book they’re reading. Then there are DOGears, who run around causing mischief. I mean who wants their book dog eared?!! There is one world, then you look up and there’s another above it!! There are dragon eye transporters to take you up to the other world. Plus the world’s themes keep changing. There’s so much more in this world, it is filled with interesting things!! The characters are so well written, and the plot is adventurous, suspenseful and an exciting ride!!

I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book to anyone, old and young!! In fact I ordered a hardback copy for a friend’s daughter and i think she’ll love it!!!!

My Review: Nyxia Unleashed by Scott Reintgen

452D094E-6678-40B1-B472-0B4DC5558A53Getting to Eden brought Emmett and his crewmates one step closer to their promised fortune. But surviving Eden may be the biggest reward of all. Discover book two in the trilogy Marie Lu called, “a high-octance thriller.”

Emmett Atwater thought Babel’s game sounded easy. Get points. Get paid. Go home. But it didn’t take long for him to learn that Babel’s competition was full of broken promises, none darker or more damaging than the last one.

Now Emmett and the rest of the Genesis survivors must rally and forge their own path through a new world. Their mission from Babel is simple: extract nyxia, the most valuable material in the universe, and play nice with the indigenous Adamite population.

But Emmett and the others quickly realize they are caught between two powerful forces–Babel and the Adamites–with clashing desires. Will the Genesis team make it out alive before it’s too late?

MY REVIEW:

Could Scott Reintgen really write a book as good as Nyxia? Would Nyxia Unleashed suffer from “second book syndrome”? Or would Nyxia Unleashed be just as good, if not better than Nyxia?

These are the questions we had ever since we heard about the upcoming “Nyxia Unleashed” release. Well, guess what…Nyxia Unleashed was TERRIFIC!!! It was EXTRAORDINARY!!! If you loved Nyxia you’re going to LOVE Nyxia Unleashed!!!
The story begins where the kids land on the planet, Magnia. The protagonist in this, Emmett, is such an amazing character! In fact both main characters, Emmett & Morning (I totally ship them) were amazing main characters! Morning was my favorite character. But I like many of the characters in this story! They all come from very different backgrounds, that have made them who they are. They develop friendships and come to rely on each other like a family. Scott Reintgen did an excellent job with his characters.
But he also did an amazing job with world building. Being on another planet, seeing the wildlife, it’s dangers and it’s beauty. It was all fascinating. Actually learning more about all the things Nyxia could do was fascinating too.
I’m trying not to say too much here. So I’ll just say, It’s a wonderful YA SciFi book! I highly recommend it!!! Now I’ll be eagerly anticipating book 3!!!

Nyxia by Scott Reintgen

Book Summary:

Emmett Atwater isn’t just leaving Detroit; he’s leaving Earth. Why the Babel Corporation recruited him is a mystery, but the number of zeroes on their contract has him boarding their lightship and hoping to return to Earth with enough money to take care of his family.

Forever.

Before long, Emmett discovers that he is one of ten recruits, all of whom have troubled pasts and are a long way from home. Now each recruit must earn the right to travel down to the planet of Eden—a planet that Babel has kept hidden—where they will mine a substance called Nyxia that has quietly become the most valuable material in the universe.

But Babel’s ship is full of secrets. And Emmett will face the ultimate choice: win the fortune at any cost, or find a way to fight that won’t forever compromise what it means to be human.

My Review:

Nyxia was a really unique book. When I started reading it, I thought a little of hunger games with all the competition. But I soon realized this was its own story and a pretty intense one at times too. Emmett is the main character, and I grew to really like him. He is such a good kid. He came from a good family, and has good values. It is this that makes him outstanding amongst the other kids.

You see Emmett, like the others, was recruited by the Babel Corporation to enter the spaceship going to Eden. Once on the ship they were to compete. There were 10 of them, but only 8 would go to Eden. The competition was designed to prepare them for what they would, or could, go through on Eden. They had technology never seen before to learn to use. The competition got pretty intense. But the rewards of going to Eden meant everything to these kids!!

Some of the kids were ruthless. Some were skilled. Some were plain desperate. And some became like family to each other.

I LOVED reading this book!! It left on a cliffhanger, so I’m hoping it won’t be too long before the next book comes out!!

But, I really do recommend this!! If you like science fiction, with some action/adventure, a bit of a thriller….you’ll LOVE Nyxia!!!!
