MY REVIEW

I loved everything about this trilogy. The world, the characters, storyline, the heartbreak and the love. It had it’s dark moments, with good reason, but it also had lighter moments full of love, friendship and laughter.

The RH part of it was so well done. I swooned so much. It’s hard to pick a favorite, but if I was forced I would pick Gage. But each guy was so wonderful in his so way and so good to Celeste.

As much as I hated the series the end, it had a satisfying and wonderful conclusion. If you love Paranormal RH and haven’t checked this one out, I highly recommend you do! I hope to see more from Grace White.

Excerpt:
“We have to go back for Lucas. Take me back, now.” I grabbed at Gage’s sweater, tears streaming down my face.
“Breathe, little witch.” He pulled me into his chest. “Breathe.”
“But he… the vampires…”
“Lucas will be fine.” His hand cupped the back of my head.
“He will?” I eased out of his grip, craning my neck to see his eyes. Needing to see honesty there.
“I promise.”
“What was that back there?” It had been a blur, but I’d seen the burst of power. Felt it before Gage got us out of there.
“That was Fae magic. The Riverbank is protected by wards, protection spells. They keep unwanted visitors out.”
“I didn’t know.” I was beginning to realize I didn’t know a lot of things.
“You didn’t exactly come with an instruction manual, Celeste. And we didn’t want to overwhelm you. Telling you about the wards didn’t seem important at the time.”
“Lucas will really be okay?”
Gage backed up, giving me space, and ran a hand down his face. “He’ll be fine. If he needed help, he would have called for it. But there is none more powerful than Lucas.”
My shoulders sagged with relief.
“You really care about him, don’t you?” Gage asked tightly.
“I… I can’t explain it. It’s like you came along and all I saw was you. My heart became yours. But then spending time with Lucas, a small part became his too.”
He inhaled a ragged breath and looked to the sky. I went to him, hating the distance between us. Sliding my hands up his chest, I looped my arms around his neck and demanded his attention. “It doesn’t change how I feel about you, Gage.”
“Sharing is not in my nature, little witch.” He smoothed his thumb down my cheek and over my bottom lip. “When I think of you with another, I want to—”
“Ssh.” I silenced him with a kiss. “I’m not asking you to share.”
At least, I didn’t think I was.
Lucas and I were more friends. It wasn’t explosive and passionate the way it was with me and Gage, but I had felt something with him earlier. Gage broke the kiss, staring down at me. Slowly his mask of composure slid back into place and I knew this conversation was over.
For now.
“We should get moving. Once you’re settled with the wolves, I’ll make sure Lucas is okay and then pay Gerard another visit. Dahlia needs to be taken care of once and for all.”
“You’re not leaving me here!” I shrieked.
“It’s just until things with Dahlia calm down. She won’t stop, Celeste. Not until she has what she wants.”
“And what does she want Gage? Me… or you?”
He blew out an exasperated breath, rubbing his temples. “Come on. The sentries have picked up our scents.” Gage set off toward the bayou. Last time we’d been here, we came in through the main street, but this time we were already deep in wolf territory.
We hadn’t gotten twenty feet when Jaxon Gallant burst out of the trees. “Bloodsucker, these visits are becoming a far too regular occurrence.”
“Is Laken around?”
“He’s out at his cabin. What’s this all about?” Jaxon moved into Gage’s space and the air around us charged with tension.
Fed up with being surrounded by men who insisted on treating me like nothing more than a damsel in distress, I stomped past them both and called, “While the two of you figure out whose dick is bigger, I’m going to find Laken.”
Jaxon snickered while Gage rushed up beside me. “We were not—”
“Save it. I’m hungry, tired, and I don’t have the energy to argue with you.”
He stepped in front of me, cutting off my route. “Why didn’t you say something?”
I met Gage’s concerned gaze and grimaced. “I’m fine. Come on, let’s get this over with.”
“It must be bad if you’re running here.” Jaxon fell into step on my other side.
“It’s—”
“Celeste.” Gage’s voice was grave. “We should wait until we speak with Laken.”
“My brother doesn’t keep things from me.” The younger Gallant puffed out his chest.
Gage raised a brow at that. Thankfully, the dense trees began to clear, and I spotted Laken’s cabin in the distance. He was out front, shirtless, chopping wood. As we drew nearer, I could make out the ripple of his muscles as he swung the axe down, splitting the huge logs clean in half.
“You’ve got a little drool,” Jaxon mocked. “Right there.” He reached for me, but I batted his hand away, feeling my cheeks heat.
Gage growled beside me and when I slid my guilty eyes to his, I said, “I can’t help it. He’s right there and he’s half-naked. I’d be crazy not to notice all that.” I waved my hand in Laken’s direction.
I was playing—for the most part—but it didn’t stop my jealous vampire from stalking off ahead of me.
“Think you pissed him off.” Jaxon didn’t bother trying to tamp down the amusement in his voice.
“He’ll get over it,” I said, feeling smug to have Gage at my mercy for once.
By the time we reached Gage and Laken, they hadn’t killed each other. I took that as a positive sign.
“Look what the wolf dragged in.” Jaxon slung his arm around my neck. “Get it? Wolf?” He howled with laughter, but his brother and Gage looked anything but amused.
“Jaxon,” Laken barked. “Please remove your arm from the Regent’s neck.”
Not Celeste.
Not even girl.
Just the Regent.
I bristled.

Title: Scarlet Huntress
Series: Tales of Grimm Hollow Series
Author: LeAnn Mason
Publication Date: October 29, 2019

6699BA32-6BDF-4292-97DA-B615D0AF7DC9

Summary:

The woods have always housed my nightmares.

It’s where my grandmother was torn apart by wolves. Where, for years, I was held captive by evil shape-shifting witches. I thought it was for my Shaman abilities. I was wrong.

But their ritual failed. Instead of dying, I survived, while another’s blood stained the forest floor.

In my escape, I discovered Grimm Hollow—a place deep in the forest in which I hoped to hide. The secret town teems with magic and a Shifter who wants to help me hone my skills. But the big, bad witchy-wolf is hot on my scarlet tail, and he won’t hesitate to destroy everyone and everything to get me back—or kill me.

Hiding is no longer an option. Instead, I must become the hunter.

Bring on the big, bad wolf.

*Grimm Hollow books are loosely based on the Grimm Fairy Tales in a modern paranormal setting.*

My Review:
Scarlet goes from a victim to a strong, determined huntress. Watching her grow, along with her feelings for Hunter/Jason was fascinating and swoon inducing.

Grimm Hollow is such an interesting place with so many fascinating characters!! I am looking forward to more stories taking place there!!

LeAnn does an extraordinary, breathtaking job with world building and writing her characters. She describes enough to stir your imagination, but not so much to take that away. Her writing is phenomenal. This is definitely a favorite overall and for 2019!! I look forward to the next book in Grimm Hollow!!!

Excerpt

“Who wrote the laws saying that doorways must be sealed? Who told you to create another one of you?”

“The church.”

“Why?” He was silent. For once, he had no answer. He merely stared at me not blinking or unwavering as his eyes locked on mine. I thought I had him; nowhere in the Bible did it say to interfere with the dead or the other side. In fact, the Scripture scorned it. If I remembered correctly, that would border on witchcraft and necromancy, which was forbidden. So, if Wilson were the type to follow the Bible no matter what, then these questions just pushed his logic out the window. Even if the church said he had to do those things, who was to say they were right?

Review:
THIS BOOK IS SO AWESOME!!!! I FEEL LIKE I WANT TO SCREAM TO EVERYBODY “READ THIS SERIES!!”

I really loved book one in the Dead Dreamer series, but book two is FREAKIN AMAZING!!!!! It flows perfectly from book one to book two. Except things have become much more complicated. Brenna has a lot more to deal with, and we see what a strong girl she really is!! There’s some freakin creepy stuff going on and it gets weirder & weirder. This is releasing in October, which is awesome because it’s a great book to read then!! Sarah has proven, once again, that she is a very talented writer!!

Be ready to question Brenna’s friends loyalty. Be prepared to be shocked, creeped out and wonder ‘can Brenna only trust and rely on herself’? If you fell in love with the characters in book one, just wait until you read this book!!! Sarah’s talent in writing this book shows through in the plot that flows beautifully to make up one he!! of a story! Her dialogue gets you so involved in the characters, i would really LOVE to hear this on audiobook!! The world building is done so well that the spooky places really come alive in the mind’s eye!!!!! I can’t say enough about this book, except that I FREAKIN LOVED IT and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED IT!!!

AND CHECK OUT THAT BEAUTIFUL COVER! 😍

Rules are meant to be broken… Unless breaking them tears an entire family apart.

Finn
I’m the cool headed one. The rule-follower. The non-hormonal-raging wolf.
This pack needs someone like me. We’ve fought creatures of the night, psychotic families and dealt with magic and the unbelievable. We’re all thick as thieves, and the worst thing that could happen is getting kicked out of this pack.
Which is why breaking rules is not my thing.
So why does Elle make me want to throw it all away? And why is it my stupid, idiotic wolf does exactly that…before I’ve even had a taste of her lips? Now we’ve got more on our hands than a love story with bad timing. Cause the shite about to go down in Rockland Creek has just hit boiling point – and I’m the catalyst.

Elisandra
He barges in like he owns my destiny, and yeah it’s hot as sin. That Irish accent, those gorgeous eyes, it’d be easy to fall for it.
Only I don’t. I may look as sweet as the baked goods I sell, but there are thorns under this armor Finn has no idea about. Things he cannot know about, or I’ll end up in the looney bin like my mom. And then things get really complicated when Tytus is added to the mix, telling me stories I can’t believe. They’re fable, myths….but before long I’m spiraling into a web so thick I don’t know which way is up. And when the one person I can trust is hunted by a demon from his past, I’m left to rely on myself to figure it out. But what if I make the wrong choice?
*Book III in a paranormal shifter series filled with werewolves of all kinds, feisty females who stand up to them, and enough suspense to make it interesting. Can be read as standalone.*

MY REVIEW

If you haven’t picked up one of the Moonlight Rogues books, don’t just sit there …go get started!

Moonlight Rogues: Origins is actually Moonlight Rogues 0.5. So it is the start of everything. It introduces each of our wolves, where they came from before they ended up at Rockland Creek, how they met and became a pack. We get a peek at what their lives were like before ending up Rockland Creek. Four beautiful Alphas with disturbing backgrounds.

This can be read after reading the other books in the series. I’ve read it after Second To Surrender (Moonlight Rogues 2). It has only made me love my wolves more!!! Especially Lucas, that wolf has definitely won my heart. 💙

I highly recommend this Prequel to the Moonlight Rogues series, plus I highly highly recommend the series itself!!!!! These werewolves are unlike any you’ve read about before!!! 5+ howling stars!

Bray wasn’t sure how long she had drifted off for, but there was a puddle of wetness against her cheek when she woke up—okay, so it was only drool from herself. Lifting a hand up toward her cheek, she swiped the saliva away and rubbed it on to the hammock. Classy, she thought, but there was already some gathered there anyway.

Remembering the events from earlier, Bray headed straight to the hole and peeked out. She shifted her head from left to right. Nothing. Bray looked up and down—she could see a few bushes had already been planted in the dirt.

Then she saw it: a circular stone bowl filled with water sitting on top of a long thick stem, attached to a circular bottom. A birdbath! Almost giddily, Bray stepped on the ledge of the hole and leaped off, flapping her wings hurriedly to the nearest pink and yellow peach. Opening her jaw wide, she bit into the thin skin. A juicy one. The fruit filled her mouth with delicious pleasure, and she took one more long bite before diving down to the birdbath.

The top of her newfound treasure was a perfect circle with tiny mounds around it resembling hills. Bray landed on the ceramic and bent down to take a seat, before placing her bare feet into the warm water that had been perfectly heated from the shining sun.

Peering down at the clear water, Bray saw no sign of intrusion from other creatures yet. She rotated her head in every direction, as if she would be caught just by thinking about slipping into the water—still no sign of life.

Flicking her braid over her shoulder, Bray pursed her lips together to hide the smile aching to shine against her face and jumped into the water. The splash echoed. Her bare feet scraped the rough bottom, while her dress inflated and then clung to her body as she shot to the surface. She let out a small giggle to herself. It was sad that the only highlight of the past year was hopping into a shallow pool of water with no one around except for her.

She leaned back into the liquid, letting herself float and moving her arms slowly up and down, while swimming in figure-eight circles.

Bray closed her eyes and let the water cover her ears, so it felt like nothing in the world existed, except for the muffled vibrations from the liquid.

A loud booming sounded from above, and her eyelids thrust open, meeting dark brown eyes, light brown skin, and that black bowl hair. Tiny human. Luca.

Freeze, Bray thought to herself, not even blinking her eyes. She held them wide open, thinking he wouldn’t notice her, or maybe he would just assume she was a bird. Even though he was staring at her and had spoken something she didn’t hear clearly.

Nope. That isn’t going to work. He hovered closer, his eyes scrunched halfway closed to examine her more thoroughly. Unable to hold her eyes open any longer, Bray blinked several times.

“What are you?” he asked, genuine amazement creeping into his words, lips slightly parted.

“A bat!” Bray yelled, and she jumped up from the warmth of the water, darting straight for the tree hole.

Breathing heavily, Bray landed inside and collided with the floor. She rolled to her back, running both hands down her face. “Why did I come out without paying attention? I know not to!” Ruth had always told her this.

A quake trembled through the tree, causing shivers to run up and down her spine. What is the little beast doing? Oh no, what if he is trying to chop down the tree? My home—the peaches! Bray didn’t know why she was thinking about stupid peaches when there was another fruit tree directly next door.

Despite the thunderous rumbling, Bray grabbed the needle from underneath her hammock and dodged toward the window. If the little beast thought he could take her down, then he had another thing coming. She would prick his eye—actually, she would poke both of his eyes to protect her and Brenik’s home.

When Bray reached the edge of the window, the sound stopped. She peeped her head out of the hole, right as a face met hers, his black hair falling forward over a hazel eye—an eye she was going to poke. Startled, she jumped back instead of toward him.

A broad smile crossed the little beast’s face. “Hello.”

Freezing once again, until she remembered that the staying-still-as-a-statue strategy didn’t work in the birdbath, she meekly said, “Hi.”

Bray brought the needle up toward his smiling face, just in case.

“Are you planning on sewing something?” He tilted his head at the needle.

“Yeah, your eyeball.” She gave him a hard glare.

“What?” he asked while laughing hysterically.

He was laughing? Not scared? Bray brought the needle closer. “Yeah, you need to leave and never come back. This is my home.”

“No. Technically, it’s my brother’s home,” he said, still smiling.

“What brother? You mean your dad out there who was planting this morning?”

Luca shook his head, and she didn’t miss the wince before he spoke. “No, that’s my brother, Wes. I don’t have a mom or dad.”

Crestfallen, Bray lowered the needle. “Oh. Me neither. I only have a brother, but he will be gone for a while.” She paused and glanced at the note Brenik had left behind, her chest tightening. Then she shrugged it off and shifted her gaze back to the boy. “By the way, my name is Brayora, but you can call me Bray.” For some reason, she wasn’t worried anymore about the human.

“I’m Luca Duran.” He plopped his thin fingers on the edge of the hole.

“Yeah, I heard your name this morning, little beast. I mean, Luca.” She thought little beast suited him better than Luca.

First To Fall

(Moonlight Rogues #1)

1E663687-8B9C-456E-B405-5583F84883FAHe was given a new life, a new choice, a new path…

Once upon a time, Dominic Kosta didn’t have a last name. In fact, he had nothing growing up in a secluded orphanage in the mountains of Transylvania. Then an American couple adopted him, and life changed. He left behind the old
legends, the myths, the hunger within him.

He threw it all behind, choosing seclusion and a little town….

Rockland Creek may be a hole in the middle of nowhere, but Dom’s happy there. Life has its perks between fixing cars and seducing women. And best of all? There are no rules, other than Lucas’. Then Lucrezia San Marco walks in, and draws him in like a moth to a flame. Only, she only has eyes for Lucas, his boss – and alpha of the pack.

…filled with werewolves.

There’s nothing normal about Rockland Creek – or Dominic’s existence there. But things are about to get worse, and not just because he sees the girl he loves slipping through his fingers.

A war is brewing, eclipsing their romance and dragging old ghosts into town…

As Dominic navigates the murky waters of romance and obedience to his leader, his feelings for Lucrezia can no longer be tamed. But not everyone supports their relationship – and the Reapers have a word or two to say against it. As does Lucrezia’s ex, and the demons he brings with him.

Fire and ice, cold and hot, wolf and human. Dom and Luz will have to combine their differences and learn to compromise, or risk being torn apart by the wave of change unfurling onto Rockland Creek.

Book I in a new series of sizzling werewolves, forgotten folklore and untamed legends.

I was reading over the summary of the book before writing this review. The summary says it all, there’s not much more I can say about the story itself. But I will say, this is one of the best werewolf books I’ve ever read. Alexa Whitewolf was born in Romania and she grew up in the Transylvania region surrounded by epic mountains and a never ending stream of legends and stories. So between the legends and stories she grew up with and a very active imagination, you can see how she came up with the creation of First To Fall where Dominic came from Transylvania and the legends followed him.

I love Dominic (Dom) and Lucrezia (Luz)…they are such an awesome couple. Luz is a bit of a firecracker!! You cannot help but fall in love with Dom and Luz. The others in the pack: Lucas (pack leader), Tristan, and Finn are interesting and have there own story and I hope as the series goes on we get to learn about each pack member and see them get their mate. There’s so much I’d love to talk about, but I will give too much away. But you will love this story, it’s full of romance (of course), werewolves (duh), surprises, twists and turns, so much suspense!! It’s not just some romantic werewolf book, it’s very exciting!! There’s battles and people get hurt. So much happens! I was up late at night finishing it, because I couldn’t put it down!! I highly recommend this one guys!! 5++ Stars!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
