Delilah Gordon has a secret.

She’s been in love with her best friend and the boy next door, Fox Nelson, since she was six years old.

And while most of her friends and family know about her unrequited crush, the one person who remains oblivious is Fox himself. To Delilah, it’s better this way. She’d rather pretend that they’re just friends, even though her feelings for the moody rugged mountain man are anything but tame.

Fox Nelson has a secret too.

As a wildland firefighter or “hot shot,” Fox parachutes into danger every day he’s on the job, risking all to fight wildfires that threaten ranches, forests and thousands of lives. But while Fox’s job is only for the brave, inside he feels anything but. The more he grapples with his raging demons, the more he realizes Delilah is the only one who can put out the flames.

As the two friends grow closer – and more intimate – than ever before, the more complicated their relationship becomes.

And Delilah has one more secret to reveal.

A secret that will change both their lives…forever.

Inseparable, an all-new gritty, friends-to-lovers romance from USA Today bestselling author Siobhan Davis is LIVE!

Inseperable_kindle.jpg

Title: Inseparable

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Release Date: January 8th

A gritty, angsty, friends-to-lovers standalone romance from USA Today bestselling author Siobhan Davis.

A childhood promise. An unbreakable bond. One tragic event that shatters everything.

It all started with the boys next door…

Devin and Ayden were my best friends. We were practically joined at the hip since age two. When we were kids, we thought we were invincible, inseparable, that nothing or no one could come between us.

But we were wrong.

Everything turned to crap our senior year of high school.

Devin was turning into a clone of his deadbeat lowlife father—fighting, getting wasted, and screwing his way through every girl in town. I’d been hiding a secret crush on him for years. Afraid to tell him how I felt in case I ruined everything. So, I kept quiet and slowly watched him self-destruct with a constant ache in my heart.

Where Devin was all brooding darkness, Ayden was the shining light. Our star quarterback with the bright future whom everyone loved. But something wasn’t right. He was so guarded, and he wouldn’t let me in.

When Devin publicly shamed me, Ayden took my side, and our awesome-threesome bond was severed. The split was devastating. The heartbreak inevitable.

Ayden and I moved on with our lives, but the pain never lessened, and Devin was never far from our thoughts.

Until it all came to a head in college, and one eventful night changed everything.

Now, I’ve lost the two people who matter more to me than life itself. Nothing will ever be the same again.

A standalone new adult contemporary romance with a happy ending. Only suitable for readers aged eighteen and older due to mature content and possible triggers.

MY GUSHING THOUGHTS:

I’m still feeling “all the feels” from this book. This is the BEST DAMN BOOK I HAVE EVER READ!!!! I’m not exaggerating!! This is my ALL TIME FAVORITE BOOK IN THE WHOLE WORLD!!!!!! IM YELLING….I CAN’T HELP IT!!!! I FEEL LIKE I WANT TO YELL IT FROM MY ROOFTOP SO EVERYONE KNOWS WHAT A GREAT BOOK THIS IS!!!!!!!

Ok….now that I got that out, for now. Inseparable is a book of such depth, such emotion, that there is absolutely NO WAY I could have read this in 24 hrs. I mean, give me a RomCom or ChicLit and no problem, but a book like this NO WAY. I needed emotional breaks, breathers. This book is packed full of so much that goes on in the lives of the three main characters. The depth of emotion, it was so beautiful. The subjects this book touched on (and there were a few of them) were so emotional and touching. I want to talk about how well she touched on these subjects, but I can’t without giving anything away. But, Siobhan Davis has shown what a truly skilled writer she is. Touching on some pretty difficult emotions and experiences, and making us feel as if we were experiencing them ourselves. I felt as if I had to stop and catch my breath at times. But the beauty of it is, we are not just being entertained by a beautiful story, but we are learning a little more what people go through and therefore developing empathy for them. Pure magic, that’s what Ms. Davis has performed with her writing…pure magic.

Do yourself a favor and read the story of the Inseparable friendship of three friends, Ayden, Devin and Angelina. You may be like me and yelling out how it’s the best damn book you ever read!! I have no doubt, I am absolutely sure you’ll love it!!

Enamor by Veronica Larsen

D537711A-5482-4A0A-BE81-2CF94AC9D0E0

I’ve read one Veronica Larsen book before this (The Edge Of Us), and I fell IN LOVE with her writing. Now, reading another book, I just sit here in a bit of a book haze. How does she write characters the way she does?! I need to read another Veronica Larsen book ASAP!!!

This is an enemies to friends to lovers story, between Giles and Julia. They end up as roommates in a house with Giles’ cousin Ava.

Julia is a very interesting character. She has been through something tragic and is estranged from her family. She has insecurities from life and she is not a very happy person.

Giles, now he’s the kind of character that I LOVE how Veronica Larsen can write!! He has layers. You don’t even realize it at first. He’s very complex and there are lots of layers to peel back. Will Julia be just the girl to do it, or will she be too caught up with all her own problems and insecurities?

This book is SO GOOD!!! I really loved it!! It has, flirting, puking, pranks, secrets, friendship, romance, heat, sexiness, dancing and a little leopard. I think you should read it to see what I mean!!!

Inseparable Excerpt:

Prologue

Present Day – Angelina

Life is just a flow of interconnecting moments in time. A combination of well-thought-out actions and spontaneous reactions. A sequence of events and people moving in and out of your personal stratosphere.
At least, that’s how I’ve always viewed it.
Like a squiggly line veering up and down with no apparent pattern. Plotting the highs; pinpointing the lows. Showcasing the happy times. Highlighting the mistakes and the resulting consequences. Calling into focus all the myriad of things I should’ve done differently if I had known.
When I was a kid, I was obsessed with the notion of time—making a beeline for the fortune tellers every year when the carnival descended on the wide, open grassy field just outside town. I saved my pocket money all year round so I could have my fortune told. The idea that you could see into the future, to know what was around the corner, held an enormous fascination for me.
I wanted to make something of my life.
To dedicate myself to a profession that helped others.
To know happiness awaited me.
To receive confirmation that the two most important people in my life would always be in it. Because even the thought I could lose Ayden or Devin always sent horrific tremors of fear rushing through me.
For as long as I can remember, it had always been the three of us. Best friends to the end. The awesome-threesome. Forever infinity. It was a friendship more akin to family. A meeting of minds and hearts and promises. A connection so deep that we swore nothing or no one would ever come between us. We committed ourselves in a secret bond when we were twelve, and the commitment was imprinted on my heart in the same way it was inked on my skin.
I could never have predicted what was to come.
That I’d be the one to destroy everything.
No fortune teller ever told me that.
For years, I’ve thought of nothing but the what-ifs, and obsessed over so many questions.
What if a fortune teller had told me what would come to pass?
Would things have been different?
What would I change?
Would I have had the strength to stay away from my two best friends? To forge a completely different path in life? To deny something that was intrinsically a part of myself? Could I slice my heart apart knowing it was the right thing to do?
For years these questions have plagued me.
But I’m too afraid to confront the truth even though it’s front and center. Even though I carry it with me like a thundercloud, hovering and threatening but never opening up, never letting the storm loose.
Some truths are far too painful to acknowledge out loud.
As if to speak the words would confirm what I already know about myself.
That I’m weak, selfish, and not at all the person I thought I was.
Perhaps that’s why we don’t have that cognitive ability—to see the future, to know what lies ahead. I’ve thought of it often. If it’s evolution. If at some time in the future humans will be able to sense the path of their destiny. To alter their fate. To assume full control over every aspect of their life with conscious decision.
For now, all I’ve got is that squiggly line and a huge helping of regret.
What good comes from continually looking back? From locking myself in the haunted mansion of my past? Meandering with the ghosts of guilt and shame? For a girl who spent her happy youth so focused on the future, it’s a very sorry state of affairs. But I’m stuck in this washing machine that is my so-called life. The faster it churns, the more I lose myself. So, I try to stop time. To stand still. To numb myself to my reality. To blank out feeling and emotion. To close myself off. To never allow another human to imprint on my heart or to see into the black, murky depths of my soul.
The honest truth is, if I’d had a crystal ball—if I’d known what was going to happen—I still wouldn’t have changed a thing.
Because I would’ve missed those high points. Those happy memories that are the only thing keeping me alive right now.
If that’s what you can call my current existence.
And that makes me the most selfish, conceited liar on the planet.

Loving Kalvin by Siobhan Davis

IMG_0662This is such a beautiful romance. Yes there is drama and there is angst, but in my opinion that just made the romance that much more romantic. And lordy, can Siobhan Davis write some beautiful romance!! She also wrote some great hot and heavy scenes too!

Kalvin and Lana are soulmates.

Definition of Soulmate in the Urban Dictionary:
A person with whom you have an immediate connection the moment you meet — a connection so strong that you are drawn to them in a way you have never experienced before. As this connection develops over time, you experience a love so deep, strong and complex, that you begin to doubt that you have ever truly loved anyone prior. Your soulmate understands and connects with you in every way and on every level, which brings a sense of peace, calmness and happiness when you are around them. And when you are not around them, you are all that much more aware of the harshness of life, and how bonding with another person in this way is the most significant and satisfying thing you will experience in your lifetime. You are also all that much aware of the beauty in life, because you have been given a great gift and will always be thankful.

IMG_2039Throughout reading the Kennedy Boys series we see this is what Kalvin and Lana have had since they were children and it grew stronger as they got older, until Kalvin’s mother put a stop to them seeing each other. But that connection was still there, even when they tried to fight it. They hurt each other many times. It was just about killing them. Now in Loving Kalvin they are in college. Lana went to University of Florida. Kalvin went there, thinking that’s where she went, and he wanted to find her and win back her love. He knew they belonged together and was willing to try whatever it took to get her back. it was beautiful and he was so incredibly romantic.

IMG_2043Lana feels she’s undeserving of Kalvin’s love. She’s made some pretty horrible mistakes and hurt Kalvin very badly. Even though he says he forgives her, she just cannot forgive herself. It doesn’t help that she still isn’t being totally honest with him and is holding back something very important from him. The guilt is eating her up and making her feel unworthy of his love.

The whole story is so heartwarming and the lesson of forgiveness is a big one. I loved this book so much! Every single page!! We even got some glimpses of my favorite Kennedy, Kyler, and Faye, and the family! Yay!! I totally recommend this book, in fact I recommend that you NOT MISS IT!!! But make sure you have a box of tissues on hand, because you will feel ALL the feels!!!
