Always Paradise by Christie Ridgway – Easily a 5 Star Review!

Return to beautiful Crescent Cove in the fourth installment in this sexy, tender series…

Photojournalist and die-hard wanderer Gage Lowell plans a little R & R in Crescent Cove, the place of idyllic childhood summers. Beach House No. 9 seems like a great place to relax after his latest harrowing adventure and he plans to surprise old friend and current pen pal, Skye Alexander, who manages the beachside properties. Though the last time they’d met in person they’d been kids, her communications over the years have kept him in touch…and sometimes saved him from his dark demons. But upon arrival, Skye doesn’t seem all that happy to make his re-acquaintance…

Skye knows it’s nuts not to be eager to spend time with the hard-bodied, ultra-sexy Gage. But it’s clear he sees her as just a friend and she might be thinking of him in a little more…uh, intimate terms. And then there’s the subject of secrets. Clearly he’s holding one back and she has them of her own. But the way he smiles at her…then the way he kisses her…can she open herself up to him in order to discover just how close to Paradise the two of them might come?

Beautiful dreamer, out on the sea, Mermaids are chanting the wild lorelei; Over the streamlet vapors are borne, Waiting to fade at the bright coming morn. Beautiful dreamer, beam on my heart, E’en as the morn on the streamlet and sea; Then will all clouds of sorrow depart, Beautiful dreamer, awake unto me! Beautiful dreamer, awake unto me!

I have loved the Almost series so much. But I have to say the Lowell brothers were my favorite. Twins Griffin and Gage. Griffin and Jane’s story in Almost Always (Book 2) and now Gage and Skye’s story in Almost Paradise. I loved them both, but I would say that this book, with Gage and Skye is definitely my favorite. I loved both Gage and Skye so much. They both had layers, they had traumatic events that they hadn’t recovered from and weren’t opening up to anybody about. At first it seemed as if Gage was just good for Skye, and he really was great for her. But little by little she had be healing him too. So beautiful!

Also, a little side story about Skye’s friend, Polly and her best friend Teague. They had a best friends to lovers thing going on. They were a very cute couple. She’s a kindergarten Teacher and he’s a Fireman. There was quite a bit of angst before things came together, but they did.

All in all…this was an awesome book!! I loved everyone of these books from the Almost series!! Christie has such a wonderful way of grabbing the reader and pulling you into the world she’s written, so that you have completely forgotten everything else going on around you!!
I’d give this whole series 10 Stars, if that were possible!!

What are you waiting for? Start out with the first book, Almost Wonderful, it’s a small novella! I have a feeling that when you’re done you’ll be back for more!!
